The Boland Connection
As we continue with the restoration of the Dominick-Boland House, we envision this beautiful property as an historic inn, where guests can experience the charm and elegance of a bygone era.
We are dedicated to preserving the unique character and history of this property while providing our guests with an unforgettable experience. The restored “Boland House“ will be more than just a place to stay – it will be a journey back in time.
During the purchase of the house, we discovered a portrait of Noah Boland hanging over one of the fireplaces in the home. Our research indicates that he was the second owner of the property, who purchased the house and farm from Fredrick Dominick in 1888. (The home remained with Noah’s descendants until we bought the property this year. The seller graciously allowed us to keep the portrait with the house.) Noah’s purchase was two years before the railroad arrived. Once the whistle stop was in place, he subdivided his adjacent property into lots and created the village of Little Mountain. Accordingly, Noah Boland has been called the Father of Little Mountain” and his house is the oldest building in town.
This historical connection has inspired us to continue our efforts to preserve and honor the legacy of the Boland family through our restoration and renovation of The Boland House. We look forward to sharing more about this family and their story as we continue our journey with this incredible property.
